Biodiversity PAU Maleo 2022-2023

As a sustainability partner, Ailesh is dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of its manufacturing activities. One of our primary projects is to promote PT Panca Amara Utama, a subsidiary of PT Essa Industries Indonesia Tbk, one of the world's largest ammonia manufacturers. ESSA, through PT Panca Amara Utama, is committed to addressing environmental and sustainability considerations in all of its production operations. Through the Green PROPER mentorship program, PT Panca Amara Utama and Ailesh are committed to enhancing environmental performance in both internal and external industry areas, including biodiversity conservation initiatives.

PT Panca Amara Utama, located in Banggai, Central Sulawesi, contains a diverse flora and fauna, including the endangered and protected species Maleo Sengkawor (Macrocephalon maleo), which is also associated with the traditional culture of Melabu Tumpe for the indigenous people of Banggai. Ailesh and PT Panca Amara Utama are partnering on biodiversity conservation, particularly for the Maleo, by mentoring in the development of corporate biodiversity protection policies, establishing conservation areas within the company, determining strategic plans and biodiversity action plans, identifying priority flora and fauna, and reporting program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation with various stakeholders, as well as reporting on biodiversity innovation.

Ailesh has successfully improved environmental management performance in the area of biodiversity protection by implementing the 2023 PROPER reporting system. PT Panca Amara Utama achieved Green PROPER certification by increasing biodiversity protection features by approximately 38.75% between 2022 and 2023.
